Clever Tricks to Make Life Easier for Moms of Little Artists

Being a mom of little artists isn’t always easy. Dried paint on the table, glitter everywhere, empty glue bottles, and crayons scattered around the house… sounds familiar? I absolutely love when my kids create, but let’s be honest – the mess can drive you crazy. And yet, I don’t want to stop them from being creative! That’s why I’ve collected some clever hacks that really help moms keep things under control while still letting kids explore their artistic side.

1. Paper towels & plastic wrap – your rescue duo

Cover the table with cling film, and when the fun is over, just peel it off with all the mess. Keep paper towels nearby, and sudden spills won’t be a problem anymore.

2. Fun organizers for crayons and markers

Jars, cans, paper rolls – turn them into colorful organizers. If your child decorates them, they’ll proudly put their crayons away every time.

3. Glitter without the stress

Kids love glitter, moms hate it. My hack? A lint roller! Just a few rolls over clothes, furniture, or the floor and the shiny nightmare is gone.

4. Sponge glue station

Instead of letting kids squeeze half a bottle of glue, pour it onto a sponge in a small sealed container. They can dab items on it – neat, clean, and waste-free.

5. Dried markers = watercolor paints

Don’t throw away dried markers! Put them in cups of water and – ta-da – you have DIY watercolors. Kids love the magic of it.

6. Soap pump for paints

Pour poster paints into a soap dispenser. One pump = the right amount of paint. No more spilled puddles of color.

7. Sharpen scissors & punches with foil

Cut through aluminum foil a few times, and your scissors and craft punches will be sharp again.

8. New life for broken crayons

Melt broken wax crayons in silicone molds and get brand new, colorful shapes. Kids will be thrilled – and it’s recycling at the same time!

9. Keep yarn & strings tangle-free

Wrap them around clothespins and clip the ends inside. No tangles, no frustration, and they even look tidy!

These little tricks won’t make your home sparkle like in a commercial, but they’ll help reduce the chaos and turn “trash” into creative treasures. Because cleaning up after kids is a bit like brushing your teeth while eating chocolate – pointless, but at least it can be easier 😉
